PlanetGeoIndonesia, was PlanetGISIndonesia, is a blog aggregator from Indonesians, ranting on GIS, geography, geology, geo sciences, and other geo-related materials. Originally built from a posting in GeografianaBlog.

Why 'Planet'?

The name 'planet' was taken from the first blog aggregator software, and also used by this site to aggregate the blog posts. And as it widely used, websites that aggregates posts from different blogs using Planet or similar software are known as planets themselves.

PlanetGeoIndonesia saves you time and effort on reading GIS blog contents from Indonesia. We know that Indonesian blogs publishing this subject are still very limited, but hey doesn't we make it easier for you?

Why do you change the name to PlanetGeoIndonesia?

Some of you might notice that our first name was 'Planet GIS Indonesia'. But then we feel that GIS isn't the right word to express the content. Not all posts are about GIS. So we expand the name to a wider context, Geo.

And as the result you can also access this site through http://geo.web.id.

Who can join PlanetGeoIndonesia?

Any Indonesian with their own weblog. You can use English or Indonesian language on your site, a mix of those are also welcome.

But we value originality. Blogs with so many copy-and-paste content from another sites/sources are not likely be aggregated on this site.

We also value honesty. Some times we cannot avoid copy-and-paste practice. If you do so, please include the original source or link, or better you can submit your own opinion and have a value added post on it.
